VMS - What does 'Unlink Message' from the Voyage do?

When a Vessel Message is unlinked, it no longer shows up on the Voyage. To unlink a Vessel Message, please see the following steps in the image.

The unlinked message does not remove the data applied in the leg. It only breaks up the linkage from the leg.
