This field is solely for Veson Platform users who use Vessel Insights in that product. It's a new column in the IMOS Data Center > Vessels > Fuel/Lube Types table that lets you map a Vessel Insights fuel type (HFO, LFO, or MDO) to a corresponding IMOS fuel type, such as IFO, LSFO, ULSFO, LSMGO, or BIO. This mapping tells IMOS which of your existing fuel types to use when it ingests vessel consumption profile data supplied by Vessel Insights.
I don't use Veson Platform or Vessel Insights — why do I see this field in IMOS?
The field is part of the standard IMOS Fuel/Lube Types table, so it appears for all IMOS users regardless of whether your organization uses Veson Platform. If you don't use Vessel Insights, you can leave it unmapped — it has no effect on your existing workflows.
Do I need to fill this in if I don't use Vessel Insights?
No. Leaving the field blank does not affect your fuel/lube type configuration, vessel data, or any other IMOS functionality.
Does this change anything about how Fuel/Lube Types work otherwise?
No. This adds a new mapping column to the existing Fuel/Lube Types table; it doesn't change how fuel/lube types are created, edited, or used elsewhere in IMOS.
