Piracy Routing

To set up piracy routing, do any of the following:

• On the Estimate (column or details) or Voyage Manager, set Piracy Routing/Avoidance:

  • Default: Uses the vessel's default routing preferences specified on the Routes tab in the Vessel form.

  • Disabled: Uses the most direct route.

  • Enabled: Reroutes around all Piracy zones.

    

• On the Estimate, Voyage, or Distances map, select Minimize Piracy Routing.

• In Distances Map Settings, there is a Minimize Piracy check box. When selected, routes will be calculated to minimize travel through Piracy Zones.

ECA Routing

To set up ECA routing, do any of the following:

• On the Estimate (column or details) or Voyage Manager, set ECA Routing:

  • Default: Uses the vessel's default routing preferences specified on the Routes tab in the Vessel form.

  • Disabled: Uses the most direct route.

  • Enabled: Reroutes around all ECA zones.

• On the Estimate, Voyage, or Distances map, select Minimize ECA Routing.

• In Distances Map Settings, there is a Minimize ECA check box. When selected, routes will be calculated to minimize travel through ECA Zones.

If a port is located within a Fuel Zone, its name appears on the Properties panel.

• A port is assigned to the smallest Fuel Zone within which it is located. For example, HUENEME is assigned to the USA 25NM zone, but it is also located in US 200NM:

• To override the low sulfur status, select the Use High Sulfur Fuel checkbox. Any future in-port consumption at that port uses high-sulfur fuel.

  • To specify a port as a low-sulfur area, select the Low Sulfur ECA checkbox.

  • You can also specify an Emission Control Area as a low-sulfur area, automatically setting the area and all ports in it to low sulfur. To confirm that you have the latest version of Distances, make sure that ECA Fuel Zone ports are in your Port List, and confirm that the Low Sulfur ECA check box is selected in all of them.

    For other ports, the Fuel Zone field contains None.

• ECA BOHAI SEA - BOHAI SEA is a zone that is contained under the China ECA zone for propulsion.

• ECA - BOHAI SEA - SCRUBBER RESTRICTION considers the scrubber setting and takes priority over any other overlapping ECA zones. This ECA zone takes priority over the ECA - China and existing ECA - Bohai Sea zones where they overlap to allow for consideration of using the more restrictive scrubber setting in this region. If you are enabling this zone in your Fuel Zone setup, you can now mark the old ECA - Bohai Sea fuel zone inactive, as it will never apply.

• ECA - CHINA: When using this fuel zone, set YANGTZE RIVER DELTA, and YANGTZE RIVER DELTA 10OCT18 as inactive. ECA-CHINA incorporates these zones together, so the others are no longer needed. When keeping them all activated will cause duplicated passing points in the itinerary.

• ECA - COLUMBIA RIVER

• ECA - DENMARK 12NM: When active, this zone takes priority over the SECA - North Sea zone in areas where they overlap.

• ECA - DENMARK 12NM BORNHOLM: This zone covers Rønne and Greenland, ensuring accurate fuel consumption, ROB, and P&L calculations for voyages passing through these areas. This zone will only apply if the ECA - Baltic Sea zone is not enabled in your Fuel Zone setup. When enabled, it takes precedence over the North Sea SECA in overlapping areas.

• WORLDWIDE: This zone is used to set the Fuel Types to be consumed in ports that are not located in any of these Fuel Zones but have the Low Sulfur ECA check box selected. This includes any historic Estimates created without Fuel Zone information. It should include only Fuel Types that were being used for low sulfur consumption before configuring Fuel Zones (and no cons rate only); otherwise, the consumption rates and types will change on Estimates/voyages created before Fuel Zones were enabled.
