Why is the Estimate ID Not Auto-Generated When Creating a New Estimate?
The reason this issue happens is because the maximum limit of characters for the EstimateID has been reached for the specific user - which is why the system can no longer auto-generate them.
The system’s limit is 9 alphanumerical values, a combination of the user’s initials, and the Estimate’s number.
Example: ADMIN-9999
Solution:
To resolve the issue, the user’s initials would need to be changed and shortened so that the system can auto-generate EstimateIDs from the beginning.
Example: Change from ADMIN → ADM
Once the initials have been changed, the user would have to log out and log into IMOS again for it to take effect.
